Alvin C. Thomas, Sr., Chairman of the Board

 

In March of 1975, he received the highest award offered by Allstate Insurance Company, the Good Hands Award. In1989, Alvin was recognized as the only African American Multi-line Risk Manager for Allstate Insurance Company nationwide, which meant he could underwrite all lines of insurance that Allstate sold.

 

Alvin has been an active member of the Lanier High School National Alumni Association for over 18 years. During this time, he has served on several committees devoted to continuing Lanier High School students' legacy of success. Alvin has also served as President of LHSNAA until his current position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was one of the primary individuals responsible for establishing and obtaining the Bulldog license plate in Mississippi.

 

Alvin plans to continue his work assisting the students of Lanier High School. He truly believes that his continued community outreach is a civic duty and a call from God.
