The Lanier High School National Alumni Association has named Sababu B. Rashid as the 2020 Alumni of the year. This award is the highest award an alumnus of Lanier High School can receive. Sababu is a 1966 graduate of Lanier High School, where he was a band and football team member. He is a co-founder of, International Museum of Muslim Cultures, located in Jackson, Mississippi. The Association takes pride in selecting Sababu B. Rashid as the year's Alumni for the Lanier High School National Alumni Association.  He has truly given back to the school and scholars of Lanier High School. The Board of Directors unanimously voted for the recognition of Mr. Sababu B.Rashid.
